e-Learning professional development for schools

03 January 2012

From 2012, a selection of schools for e-learning-related professional learning and development, funded by the Ministry of Education, will be managed by Regional Ministry offices.

Who will get priority?

Regional offices will work collaboratively with professional learning providers to identify priority groups.

Priority groups will include schools/kura/clusters:

  • with a high proportion of students traditionally underserved by the education system
  • with an identified e-learning capability need
  • connecting to ultra-fast broadband and/or upgrading their network (SNUP).

What are you looking for?

You might need guidance:

  • developing and realising your vision for your students as connected, engaged, creative life long learners
  • with e-learning strategic planning
  • integrating technologies into teaching and learning
  • developing your infrastructure
  • using technologies to connect with and engage your community
  • conducting a self-review using the e-Learning Planning Framework.

Can I apply for ICT-PD funding?

From 2012, there is no further funding for ICT-PD. Those schools and clusters that are working in the existing ICT-PD programme will complete their contract at the end of 2012. ICT–PD professional development is transitioning to the Regional Programme (refer above) that combines online and face-to-face support.
